Florida could start fall camp without cornerback Dijon Johnson, according to Swamp247's Graham Hall.
Gators head coach Jon Sumrall told Swamp247 at SEC media days that Johnson "may have some limitations" early on in camp. The good news is that Johnson is "way ahead of schedule" and "should not have any limitation... for game one."
Johnson missed the final eight games of the 2025 season with a knee injury. He had a second procedure done on that same ligament after spring camp, which left his comeback timeline up in the air. Everything appears to be working out just fine, but Florida isn't in any hurry to rush him back.
Sumrall predicted Johnson would be 100 percent sometime in fall practices, noting that he was running "20-something miles an hour" just last week.
Johnson is expected to play a key role in Florida's secondary this season. He's one of two returning juniors, alongside Cormani McClain. Jordy Lowery is the other scholarship upperclassman, but his role is to be determined after transferring from East Carolina in January. Redshirt freshman Ben Hanks III also figures to play a bigger role on the depth chart this season as a former five-star recruit.
