Apr. 10—MITCHELL — Registration is now open for the First Tee South Dakota 2026 youth golf program at Mitchell's Lakeview Golf Course.
Designed for young athletes aged 6 to 17, the program blends golf instruction with character-building lessons to help participants succeed both on the course and in their daily lives.
The program is scheduled for Mondays and Tuesdays throughout the summer, including June 29, 30 and July 6, 7, 13, 20, 21, and 27.
Classes are organized by age to ensure age-appropriate developmental content: Ages 6-8 will participate from: 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.; ages 9-10: 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.; ages 11-13 and 14-and-older: 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
The registration fee is $98, but First Tee maintains a strict policy that no young person will be turned away because of an inability to pay. Financial assistance is readily available by contacting program directors. Additionally, all golf equipment is provided for participants, though students are welcome to bring their own labeled sets.
Because class sizes are limited, organizers encourage families to register early on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents can register online at firstteesouthdakota.org.
