One of the benefits rookie enjoy at the NFLPA Rookie Premiere is getting to don their team's official uniform well before even attending their first OTA practice, let alone playing in a game. This year, for the Raiders, it was top pick QB Fernando Mendoza and fourth round RB Mike Washington who got the invite and thus enjoyed the chance to suit up in their official duds.
Here are the first looks at them.
Mendoza will compete with veteran Kirk Cousins for the Raiders' starting QB job this season. But regardless of who wins that battle, and thus starts the regular season, we will first see Mendoza take the field for the preseason. They open at home against the Cardinals in mid August.
Washington was widely seen as a top five back in this draft class and a great value in the fourth round. The Arkansas alum should take the field both in the preseason and the season opener. He will be the complementary back behind former sixth overall pick Ashton Jeanty to offer the Raiders a nice looking one-two punch at the position.
