Veteran wide receiver Romeo Doubs sported his New England Patriots jersey in public for the first time in Wednesday's "Community Day" event.

The event was a gathering of over 200 fourth and fifth-graders going through drills with Patriots players and coaches.

Doubs was a key free agent acquisition for the Patriots in March. He signed a four-year, $60 million deal to join an offense that released its leading receiver, Stefon Diggs, at the start of the new league year. The former Green Bay Packers standout offensive weapon is an ascending talent at the wide receiver position, and the Patriots are hoping he emerges as one of quarterback Drake Maye's top offensive weapons.

Doubs hauled in 55 catches for 724 yards and six touchdowns last season. At only 26 years old, there is still plenty of room to grow for the former fourth-round draft pick.

The Patriots might also be looking to trade for the Philadelphia Eagles' three-time All-Pro wide receiver A.J. Brown as well. Doubs potentially working alongside a true No. 1 wide receiver could bring out the best in his game in New England.
