Frederic Vasseur is set to miss qualifying day at the Monaco Grand Prix.
On Saturday, June 6, Ferrari announced on X that its team principal, 58, would “not be present at the circuit” later that afternoon due to health concerns.
"Following some medical checks, Fred will remain under observation at a local medical facility,” said the Formula 1 team. “No further medical information will be provided. We wish Fred a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back at the track soon.”

After Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc topped both practice sessions in Monaco on Friday, Ferrari is entering this weekend's Grand Prix with high hopes. In the second practice session, Hamilton, 41, set the fastest time while Leclerc, 28, followed 0.111 seconds behind him, per ESPN.
The team has not won a Grand Prix since Carlos Sainz won in the 2024 Mexico City GP.
Since the order in which drivers finish in qualifying determines how the grid lines up for the race, the three sessions become some of the most important parts of a Grand Prix weekend. Overtaking opportunities are limited in Monaco due to the narrow track.
The day before qualifying began, Vasseur said that, despite a very strong start to the weekend at their first practice, the team has a “very long way” to go in Monaco.

“The most difficult [thing] is that you have to anticipate the evolution of the track, the evolution of the grip, and you have to be always one session ahead,” he said, per Formula 1. “This is a real challenge for the team and for the drivers. It means that it's still a long way, and we'll see tomorrow [Saturday] evening about the real pace.”
Vasseur, who has overseen the team's operations since 2023, previously navigated health issues when he suffered from a back injury that same year, per The Athletic.
