Father of Barcelona manager Hansi Flick passes away on day of Clásico
All amongst the first-team setup at La Liga champions Barcelona are in a period of mourning on Sunday.
This comes after it was made public that the father of Blaugrana head coach Hansi Flick has passed away.
Barca are of course currently in the midst of final preparations for the headline fixture of the Spanish football calendar.
In the knowledge that anything other than a defeat will see them crowned kings of La Liga for the 2nd year in succession, the Catalans are primed to welcome arch rivals Real Madrid to the Spotify Camp Nou.
As alluded to above, though, in the hours leading up to the fixture, its significance has taken a back seat in Barcelona.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the Blaugrana, Hansi Flick’s father has sadly passed away:
‘FC Barcelona and the entire blaugrana family wish to send all our love to Hansi Flick after the passing of his father. We share in your sorrow and our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.’
