Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashes world record in tri-nation series final for India A vs Sri Lanka A
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi delivered when it mattered the most as he scored 94 runs off just 29 deliveries in the Tri-Nation series final against Sri Lanka A in Dambulla on June 21.
On his way to 94, Sooryavanshi hit 10 boundaries and eight sixes and was on the verge of scoring the fastest century in List A cricket, however, the Rajasthan Royals wonderkid missed the milestone by a whisker.
Sooryavanshi, though, smashed another world record as he scored the fastest half-century against Sri Lanka. The 15-year-old took just 11 balls to reach his 50 in Dambulla and broke the previous record of a 12-ball half-century registered by Kaushalya Weeraratne in 2005.
