The Minnesota Timberwolves are in slump that they need to shake off in a hurry.
After finishing the regular season as a top five three-point shooting team, the Timberwolves have gone cold from outside in their past two games.
On Tuesday, the Wolves couldn't capitalize against a Warriors team that saw Stephen Curry exit the first half with a hamstring strain. The Timberwolves shot 5-for-29 from beyond the arc, and with every failure to convert, came more opportunities for the Curry-less Warriors to build a lead they never relinquished in a 99-88 Game 1 win.
The Timberwolves' poor performance came on the tailwinds of a 7-for-47 shooting night from outside that the Timberwolves overcame to clinch their first-round series against the Los Angeles Lakers.
However, Tuesday night's Game 1 was a cause for concern.

Told Tuesday's game contributed to the worst three-point shooting performance in a two-game span in the history of the NBA playoffs -- shooting 12-for-76 -- Edwards' jaw dropped before he jokingly shrugged off the embarrassing performance.
Many fans did not find the stat as funny as Edwards, venting their frustrations on X (formerly Twitter) after the game.
One fan pleaded: "Is it laughable?"
Ain’t [expletive] funny warriors really got them where they want em," a second fan wrote.
"He should take that stat more seriously," a third fan argued.
While there was a sense of frustration in the epicenter of a disappointing start to the series, some fans took solace that Edwards and his teammates are not down on themselves.
"Ant Man has the right attitude here though. You have to stay loose," one fan wrote.
"As a blazer fan this team is too fun doesn’t take themselves too seriously and just balls I’m lowkey rooting for them to win it all since the bucks are already eliminated," another fan replied.
And of course, a LeBron James fan had to chime in.
If LeBron laughed at this, the media would crucify him," the LeBron fan opined.
When zoomed out, the Timberwolves are having a harder time hitting their shots in the postseason.
After converting on 37.7% of threes in the regular season, the Wolves have shot 70-for-226 in six postseason games -- approximately 30.9%.
It's a slight drop in a smaller sample size, but a red flag entering a Game 2 on Thursday when the Timberwolves will aim to reverse the trend.
