For the second straight season, Anthony Edwards elevated his playoff legacy by eliminating a figurehead of the modern NBA in the first round of the playoffs.
Last season, it was Edwards' idol, Kevin Durant, when he led the Minnesota Timberwolves to a sweep of Durant's Phoenix Suns, averaging 31 points per game in the process.
This year, Edwards snatched the king's crown by capping off a 4-1 series win against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers with a 103-96 victory on Wednesday night.
"Ant Man, Batman, Superman... Lakers in 5," Edwards joked during a triumphant victory lap around Crypto.com Arena.
Video of the Timberwolves star parading around the Lakers' arena went viral after the win as Edwards' attitude had fans rushing to make the same comparison.
"Ant the new Jordan," claimed a comment on the TikTok video.
"MJ must be proud," said another."
Edwards has drawn comparisons to six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan in the past for similarities to the Chicago Bulls legend's game and his physical appearance.

After eliminating the Lakers, it was Edwards' demeanor that seemed to trigger the Jordan comparisons from longtime NBA fans.
"Bruh even walk like Jordan," noticed a fan on TikTok.
"He even starting to walk like Jordan," one user agreed. "Somebody gotta stop this."
"bruh even walks and wears his hat like jordan," added a response.
"Jordan come get ur son," joked a commenter.
Edwards has heard the comparisons in the past. While acknowledging he has a long way to go to match MJ's career accomplishments, the Timberwolves star does not hide from fans calling him the next coming of Jordan.
"How would I look denying it?" Edwards said to ESPN's Malika Andrews in 2024. "But I don't want to be compared to somebody of such caliber. I haven't done anything on (Jordan's) level yet."
"But I love that they got faith in me, for sure," he said. "I mean, they not wrong."

I'm convinced Anthony Edwards is Michael Jordan's son.
