The New York Knicks were at home on Friday night as they faced off against the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of their second-round series.
New York entered Friday’s game at Madison Square Garden looking to pick up a victory and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since the 1999-2000 season.
That is exactly what the Knicks were able to do as they dominated their way past the Celtics to pick up an easy 119-81 victory.

Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks on Friday as he ended the game with 23 points, six rebounds and six assists, though he was not the only star to step up for New York.
OG Anunoby added 23 points and nine rebounds of his own while Mikal Bridges recorded 22 points.
Karl-Anthony Towns also stepped up big in Game 6 with 21 points and 12 rebounds while Josh Hart recorded a triple-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.

This was a crucial victory to the Knicks as they were able to avoid heading back to Boston in Game 7.
During Friday’s game, NBA fans praised ESPN for their coverage of Game 6 between the Knicks and Celtics especially after a key moment late in the third quarter.
After Anunoby hit a three late in the third quarter to put New York up 92-51, ESPN’s Mike Breen allowed the broadcast to cut to the fans in the arena celebrate as they cheered on the Knicks in what was one of the most important games in recent franchise history.
“Amazing job by ESPN cutting the broadcast to listen to an arena that hasn’t seen this level of success in over 20 years,” one fan put on X.
“That’s all Breen he knows the moment,” another fan commented.
“Always love it when a broadcaster does that,” posted another fan on X.
With the victory, the Knicks now advance to the Eastern Conference Finals to play the Indiana Pacers. The series begins on Tuesday night in New York at 8:00 p.m. EST on TNT.
