Nikola Jokic and his Denver Nuggets forced Game 7 in their second-round playoff series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Nuggets bounced back on Thursday behind Jokic's 29 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists, Jamal Murray's 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists and Christian Braun's 23 points, 11 rebounds and five assists.
Denver secured a 119-107 win at home to extend the series to its seventh and final duel despite Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's 32 points and Chet Holmgren's 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Game 7 is scheduled for Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET to define the second participant in the 2025 Western Conference finals. It could be the third straight playoff encounter between the Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves (series tied 1-1) or the clash of two of the best young guards (Gilgeous-Alexander and Anthony Edwards) and teams in the West.

More than that, NBA Twitter noticed that the build-up to this game has kept fans and analysts alike debating about who is the rightful 2024-25 MVP award winner. Jokic and Gilgeous-Alexander are the two top candidates to take the prize home and a Game 7 involving them presents a huge storyline.
Many fans took to X to joke about the potential effects of this game or how a pre-game announcement could motivate one of these players.
"They should just give MVP to whoever wins Game 7," one fan said.
"Ask Jokic and SGA if they're cool with the winner of Game 7 getting MVP," Rob Perez wrote.
"The [NBA] should announce the MVP right before Game 7. Have Jokic & SGA stand at opposing free throw lines and make the announcement," a third fan proposed.
The MVP race has been a hot topic for several months now. Even though the votes are and the winner was already elected, the storyline that the Nuggets and Thunder gave fans with this series has been remarkable.
It all will come down to one game for one of these teams to get a step closer to the NBA Finals.

If the NBA doesn’t award the MVP to SGA or Jokic right before the tip off of Game 7 they missed a massive opportunity to create one of the greatest playoff games of all time.
