LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers were ousted from the NBA playoffs on Wednesday night by the Minnesota Timberwolves. In Game 5, the Lakers showed signs of fight, but in the end were unable to make the necessary plays to win the game.
Heading into the offseason, there are once again questions swirling about James' future. Will he come back for one more season? Could we have seen the last of him in an NBA jersey?
No one knows the answer to that question. That includes James himself, who opened up briefly about that conversation following the loss to the Timberwolves.
As shared by reporter Mike Trudell, James spoke out about what he'll do next to make a decision about his future.
“I don’t have an answer to that," James said. "I’ll sit down with my wife, family and support group … have a conversation with myself on how long I want to continue to play. We’ll see.”
Fans immediately took to the comments section to share frustration with James over the retirement questions entering the offseason.

"There's no way on earth he doesn't announce his final season before it starts. He will take that farewell tour and all the media attention. We've seen him for far too long to think otherwise. He will play at least one more season," one fan wrote.
Another comment read, "Retirement gimmick he gonna play till he 50."
"Hes gotta take a pay cut if he returns. Nowhere near a $50M player anymore," another fan wrote.
A fourth comment said, "Does this every year…"
"LeBron ain’t going out without a farewell tour," a fifth fan commented.
It would be a surprise if James retires without a farewell tour of some kind. That being said, there is no guarantee he will return for another run. Fans will just have to wait and see.
