The family of former New York Giants defensive back Sam Beal continues to search for answers as he remains missing.
On Friday, Beal's sister Essence Zhane reposted a plea for information, noting that it has now been nearly 11 months since her brother was last seen. The original post from January highlighted that little new information has surfaced despite ongoing efforts, a pattern she appears to follow regularly in hopes of generating leads.
Beal, 29, was selected by the Giants in the third round of the 2018 supplemental draft out of Western Michigan. He appeared in nine games across three seasons, recording 27 tackles, one pass defensed, and one safety before being released in 2021 after opting out in 2020.
He was last seen in July 2025 after dropping off his girlfriend in Michigan and borrowing her car. Instead of going to work, he drove to Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he spoke to her by phone, promising to return home before vanishing. The vehicle was later found abandoned with his shoes, socks, and sand inside.
Beal had taken only the clothes he was wearing, slides, and his wallet.
Before his disappearance, Beal had faced personal challenges, including jail time for unpaid child support and reports of him stopping medication and making concerning statements. His family has exhausted available leads and is seeking public assistance for any information that could bring closure.
Authorities urge anyone with details to contact Kentwood Police at (616) 698-6580 or Virginia Beach Police at (757) 385-4141.
