The Atlanta Falcons have plenty of salary cap room to make one last big splash before the season begins in September. If they go defense, they should be looking for a disruptive nose tackle who can plug the run and generate interior pressure. If they go offense, the Falcons have to find a legitimate wide receiver to complement Drake London.
There's not much in the way of free agent defensive tackles left, but there are several intriguing big names still available at wide receiver. The biggest is former Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill, who has previously played with Tua Tagovailoa.
Atlanta has been named among several potential destinations for Hill by Garrett Podell at CBS Sports.
Since the was picked by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Hill has appeared in 145 games and totaled 819 catches, 11,363 yards and 83 touchdowns. Along the way he has made eight Pro Bowl teams and earned five first-team All-Pro honors. That's a Hall of Fame career if there ever was one.
Hill may now be past his prime. However, when he was still healthy in 2024 he managed to post 959 yards and six touchdowns, which was just one year removed from a league-best 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2023.
Hill's previous experience with Tagovailoa makes him a good fit. If Michael Penix Jr. can bring his game up to par it may be an even better fit, taking advantage of Hill's unrivaled ability as a vertical threat. Signing him won't come cheap, but there's no other free agent the Falcons can add that would move the needle more than Hill.

"Hill could easily leapfrog Jahan Dotson and Olamide Zaccheaus to be WR2 for the Atlanta Falcons behind only Drake London. He also became the first player in NFL history with multiple 1,700-yard receiving seasons after his first two seasons catching passes from Tua Tagovailoa in 2022 and 2023, and Tagovailoa is now in Atlanta. Even if Michael Penix Jr. ends up starting the vast majority of the games, Hill has plenty of reps banked catching passes from a left-handed quarterback, thanks to his four seasons in Miami with Tagovailoa."
