Even after the Atlanta Falcons' best season in years, the pressure is on general manager Terry Fontenot and head coach Raheem Morris to make an even bigger jump in 2025. The team has holes to fill on the defensive side of the football and the draft is the place to fill them.

The 2025 NFL draft is just over a week away and the Falcons are making sure they leave no stone unturned when it comes to the scouting process. On Tuesday, the team was linked to two more defensive prospects.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Falcons recently met with Georgia linebacker Chaz Chambliss on a pre-draft visit. Chambliss, who tied for the team lead with 6.5 sacks last season, is a potential Day 3 target for Atlanta.

Sources: Georgia LB Chaz Chambliss is visiting the #Chargers today and tomorrow. He’s also met with the #Lions and #Falcons and had a private workout with the #Saints.

"Chambliss is an undersized 3-4 outside linebacker and he’s very strong for his size," NFL.com's Lance Zierlein wrote in the Georgia linebacker's scouting report. "He plays the game with a relentless forward charge but will run into some road blocks due to his lack of size and length."

The Falcons were also linked to USC defensive back Jaylin Smith. According to Ryan Fowler of the Draft Network, Smith has a pre-draft visit scheduled with the team. Since Wednesday is the final day that teams can host prospects on top-30 visits, Smith will likely be heading to Atlanta today or tomorrow.

The Trojans defender played primarily at cornerback last season but also spent time at both safety spots. Smith is the 220th-rated prospect on the Pro Football Focus big board and someone the Falcons could target in the seventh round.

Atlanta has just five total draft selections, including two in the seventh round, so we've seen the team focus on more Day 3 prospects than in recent years. The 2025 NFL draft kicks off on Thursday, April 24.
