The Atlanta Falcons and tight end Kyle Pitts have agreed to terms on a three-year, $54 million extension, including $36 million in guaranteed money, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday afternoon.

"ESPN sources: TE Kyle Pitts and the Atlanta Falcons reached agreement today on a three-year, $54 million contract that includes $36 million fully guaranteed," wrote Schefter. "It is the largest three-year contract for a tight end in NFL history. David Mulugheta of Athletes First and Andre Odom confirmed the deal."

Pitts was set to play on the franchise tag in 2025, but he will now earn roughly $18 million per year over the next two seasons, per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

"Pitts will not play on the $15M franchise tag and instead receives $36M fully guaranteed over the next two seasons," wrote Rapoport.

The Falcons drafted Pitts with the fourth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Florida. After a 1,000-yard rookie season, Pitts had three average years before bouncing back with an 88-catch, 928-yard campaign in 2025. The speedy tight end led the team in receiving yards despite having two different quarterbacks.

Pitts will now average the third-most money per season among NFL tight ends. The deal also means that Pitts will remain in Atlanta through the 2028 NFL season.
