Coaching makes all the difference in the NFL. Just ask the Seattle Seahawks, who languished in a good-but-not-great territory under Pete Carroll for a decade after their first franchise Super Bowl win, only to get right back and win one in Year 2 under Mike Macdonald.
The Atlanta Falcons are hoping to get a similar boost from Kevin Stefanski, who was hired as their new head coach after spending six seasons with the Cleveland Browns - where he won two Coach of the Year awards.
If the Falcons take that next step under Stefanski, you can bet that the Browns will regret firing him. We won't have to wait long for a comparison, either. In Week 14 the Falcons will visit Cleveland, which has been named Atlanta's one must-watch game for the 2026 season by Josh Kendall at The Athletic.
You don't normally think of coaches for revenge games, and if you ask Stefanski he will likely downplay any potential emotional return angle. That doesn't mean he won't desperately want to dominate his former team, though.
On that front the Falcons should have the advantage. Talented as the Browns are their quarterback situation might be the least-enviable in the league. Having to decide between Michael Penix and Tua Tagovailoa is certainly preferable to choosing between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders, anyway.
Cleveland has gotten high marks for its 2026 draft class, but it will likely take a while for their impact to be felt on the field. As long as the Falcons can find a way to neutralize Myles Garrett - even if it takes three linemen - they should be able to take care of business on the road, here.

"It’ll be interesting to see how Browns fans welcome former coach Kevin Stefanski back to Cleveland. Though he was twice named the NFL Coach of the Year, he was 45-56 in six seasons there. That’s not great, but it’s basically the same winning percentage Bill Belichick had in five seasons with the Browns. (You have to grade on a curve with Cleveland.) It’ll likely be an emotional trip for Stefanski, whether he hears boos or cheers from the Dawg Pound."
