Formula 1 plans to cancel Grands Prix in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia due to the war in Iran, multiple media outlets are reporting, citing sources briefed on the matter.



Both countries have been impacted by the war in Iran and have been hit by Iranian strikes in the wake of attacks by the United States and Israel that began February 28.



The Bahrain Grand Prix weekend was scheduled to start April 10 and the Saudi Arabian GP was set to start April 17.



ESPN, The Athletic and other sources have reported the news, though they have not received confirmation from the FIA, Formula 1's governing body.



A formal announcement is expected soon.
