Just ripping the weak side trap for a Thursday Triple Option.
CBS TOP 138
Any preseason ranking put out there is just a fun guess, but we seem to put a little stock in them because at the very least — it’s fun. CBS Sports dropped a complete 138 team ranking with Notre Dame coming in at #4.
(Special note… I’m looking forward to taking my boys to Ypsilanti on August 29 to watch our #118 Eastern Michigan playing host to #136 Sacramento State. I’m totally serious — Hurons Forever!).

SO… WHAT ABOUT MIAMI’S SCHEDULE?
Notre Dame’s 2026 football schedule has been taking quite a bit of heat over the last few months, and to be honest, there isn’t a whole lot to defend. And yet… where’s everyone’s beef with Miami’s schedule? The Canes have one opponent in the top 25 (Notre Dame) and play an FCS school. Where’s the outrage?
Miami ranks No. 7 in CBS Sports' post-spring rankings.
Notre Dame represents their only top-25 foe:
4. Notre Dame
26. Clemson
37. Virginia Tech
41. Pitt
43. Duke
45. Wake Forest
47. FSU
78. North Carolina
89. Stanford
98. Boston College
112. Central Michigan

PRETTY OBVIOUS
Speaking of Miami and Notre Dame vs Miami… it’s sold out, and it’s also a game the nation is looking at as a major revenge game. CJ Carr may not use those words, but we can (and will).

FRESH SPOT
One of the ACC games Notre Dame has to play this season will be against the North Carolina Tar Heels and Sugar Daddy, Bill Belichick, down in Chapel Hill. One of the few successful makeovers that Belichick has performed since taking over as the head coach, is with Kenan Stadium. Bill replaced the field turf with real grass (a real hero) and got some fancy upgrades done just in time to host the Irish.
