The Boston Red Sox drafted Blaze Jordan in the third round of the 2020 MLB Draft, and he made his MLB debut on Friday for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Jordan went 2-for-4 in his MLB debut, picking up an RBI in the process. On Saturday, he hit his first big league home run. Jordan's three-run home run in the seventh inning extended the Cardinals' lead to 9-4. He hit the ball 418 feet. The Red Sox traded Jordan Steven Matz in July of last year.

Matz ended up leaving the Red Sox in free agency. Jordan was the Red Sox's No. 7 prospect in 2022 and had great potential coming out of high school. He was regarded as a great power hitter with the potential to put up monster home run numbers. He hit 50 home runs as a minor leaguer in the Red Sox system.

He hit 18 home runs in 98 games for the Cardinals' Triple-A affiliate and is finally showing his power stroke in the big leagues. He is the Red Sox's No. 25 prospect and could end up being a key player for them down the stretch. The Cardinals are trying to pass the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Central, but are in a great position to at least earn a wild card spot.

Making the postseason in the National League will not be easy, so if Jordan can be the star the Red Sox thought he could be when they drafted him, he would be a huge boost for the Cardinals.
