Orlando Pirates wide receiver Nyqwan Murray has been named second-team All-IFL for the 2026 season.
This is Murray's third All-IFL selection. He was named All-IFL first team following the 2024 and 2025 seasons while with the San Antonio Gunslingers.
Murray was the first player ever signed to the organization following its move from Massachusetts to Orlando.
Murray did not disappoint in 2026. Despite missing multiple games to injury the ex-Florida State Seminole managed 71 receptions, 882 receiving yards, and 21 touchdowns.
Orlando finished the season 10-7 with a loss to the Green Bay Blizzard in the Eastern Conference semi-finals, losing 73-59. Murray accounted for three receptions, for 30 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Paxton DeLaurent had eight touchdowns in the loss.
The first-year team played tough during the regular season defending home turf by going 5-1 at Kia Center. They finished fourth in the Eastern Conference and came one game away from the conference championship.
Before his professional days, Murray was an all-time great wide receiver for Florida State. Murray played for Florida State from 2015-2016. During his time in Tallahassee Murray played in 41 games while starting 18 games. He had 127 receptions for 1854 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.
Murray started eight games for Florida State his senior year of 2018, and led them in receptions with 54 receptions. He was named third-team All-ACC following the season.
Before the Indoor Football League, Murray had a brief stint in the National Football League with the Seattle Seahawks, the Canadian Football League, United Football League, and Arena Football League.
In addition to Murray’s All IFL selection, DeLaurent was named to the All IFL Rookie Team this season, Pooka Williams was named first team All IFL as a running back and kick returner, and defensive lineman Devonte O’Malley was also named to the All Rookie Team.
After three consecutive seasons of being named All IFL Murray could have an opportunity to work out with an NFL team as all teams are now about a week into training camp. Players get hurt every day in camp, and that is likely the opportunity Murray is counting on.
At 29 years of age he is not necessarily old, but every year a new and younger group is coming out of college. The clock is ticking for Murray before he becomes an afterthought in the NFL world and becomes one of many players who coulda, woulda, shoulda, but for some reason could not catch a break with an NFL team.
