Tommy DeVito, the former New York Giants quarterback who became a fan favorite as "Tommy Cutlets" during his breakout 2023 rookie stint, is now embracing a quieter role with the New England Patriots at Super Bowl LX.

Speaking at Super Bowl LX Opening Night, the third-string quarterback reflected on leaving behind the intense New York spotlight while savoring the big-game atmosphere.

DeVito, claimed off waivers by the Patriots in August 2025, has spent the season as a backup to Drake Maye and Josh Dobbs, contributing mainly by mimicking opposing quarterbacks in practice to sharpen the defense. He expressed contentment with his current chapter.

"That was cool and fun, but that's a Jersey, New York thing, if you will. That's going to be tied to that. Mainly, because I'm from there. That was one of the most special teams in my life -- and I love it every time I go back -- but this is a different version of myself, and I’m happy with that," DeVito said, via the New York Post.

"I'm looked at as Tommy DeVito the football player and not 'Tommy Cutlets,' the at-home Italian kid down the street. I think it was good for me. It was good for everything outside of me -- family. It couldn't happen at a better place."

As an athlete, DeVito acknowledged the challenge of limited playing time but highlighted his value off the field.

"As a competitor, you always want to play. But my role each week, I am giving our defensive guys a look akin to no other. Trying to replicate, I'm watching film on the [opposing] quarterbacks to give them the best possible advantage," he said.

He emphasized making the most of the moment.

"I’m trying to soak it all in. You never know when it's going to be your last opportunity because everything has to fall right," he said.

DeVito credited his Giants experience -- marked by ups and downs -- for building resilience.

"Adversity brings out the best in you. My time in New York … was filled with ups and downs. That was so beneficial for my career because I’ve seen a lot in a little time. The good, the bad and the ugly," he said.

On a personal note, he quipped about missing home comforts: "Nothing’s quite like home. My mom is back home -- and nothing is beating her food."

While the Patriots' Super Bowl run puts DeVito on the grand stage, he's content focusing on preparation and growth away from the "Cutlets" fame that once defined him.
