One of the biggest variables every NASCAR weekend is the tire package, but teams arriving at EchoPark Speedway will see very few surprises.
Goodyear confirmed the NASCAR Cup Series will use the same tire setup that debuted during the spring race at the 1.54-mile drafting track earlier this season. Meanwhile, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will receive an updated right-side tire, while the Craftsman Truck Series returns to a familiar road course setup at Lime Rock Park.
Here’s what fans should know before the weekend begins.
For Sunday’s Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart, Cup Series teams will race on the same tire combination used during the spring event at EchoPark Speedway.
The setup includes the unique right-side tire Goodyear introduced earlier this season specifically for the demands of racing at the Georgia drafting track.
Keeping the same package should give teams a solid baseline heading into Sunday’s race after gathering data during the spring event.
Each Cup Series team will receive:
While the Cup Series package remains unchanged, Goodyear is introducing an updated right-side tire for Saturday night’s Focused Health 250.
The tire features an updated construction while maintaining the same compound previously used. It will be paired with the same left-side tire Xfinity teams have raced at EchoPark Speedway since 2022.
“EchoPark Speedway is a unique track and we bring tires specifically designed for the challenges it presents,” Goodyear NASCAR product manager Rick Heinrich said.
“We introduced a new right-side Cup Series tire earlier this year and will do the same in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, bringing the construction in line with the tires we run at more typical intermediate tracks.”
O’Reilly teams will receive:
The Craftsman Truck Series competes at Lime Rock Park rather than EchoPark Speedway this weekend.
Goodyear confirmed trucks will use the same 15-inch tire setup that debuted during last month’s race at Naval Base Coronado.
