The Chicago Bears are gearing up for the 2025 NFL draft, where they're slated to have seven picks, including four in the Top 75.

After their highly-anticipated first-round pick, the Bears will select twice in the second round, beginning with pick No. 39 overall by way of the Carolina Panthers. It's a familiar selection for the Bears, who have picked from this same spot quite a bit over the last few seasons.

From immediate impact players to big misses, here's a look at every player drafted at No. 39 overall since 2015:

2024: DT Braden Fiske (Rams)

Jared Verse received all the accolades for the Rams last year, but his college and new pro teammate was just as impactful. Braden Fiske notched 8.5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, and forced two fumbles for the Rams during his rookie season. The Rams traded up for the Florida State Seminole, and were rewarded immediately. He and Verse will be a formidable tandem for the foreseeable future.

2023: WR Jonathan Mingo (Panthers)

The Carolina Panthers made waves when they traded a haul to the Bears for the opportunity to pick Bryce Young No. 1 overall in 2023. That haul included wide receiver DJ Moore, which meant the Panthers needed to find a new weapon to pair with Young. They selected Jonathan Mingo with their next pick, who wasn't much of a factor. Mingo caught 43 passes for 418 yards and no scores his rookie season, and the Panthers wasted little time in determining his future plans. Carolina shipped him to the Dallas Cowboys and a seventh-round pick for a fourth-round pick halfway through the 2024 season.

2022: CB Kyler Gordon (Bears)

The Bears didn't have a first-round pick in 2022 thanks to them moving up for quarterback Justin Fields a year prior, so this was their first selection of the draft. It turned out to be a good one. Kyler Gordon has become one of the better nickel cornerbacks in the league thanks to his versatility and innate ability to sniff out plays at the line of scrimmage. Chicago and Gordon recently agreed to a contract extension, keeping him in a Bears uniform through the 2028 season.

2021: OL Teven Jenkins (Bears)

We told you this slot was popular with the Bears. In 2021, Chicago traded up with the Panthers to snag Jenkins in the hopes of providing Fields with a franchise tackle. Jenkins' career had a false start as a back issue caused him to miss the majority of his rookie season. The next year, he was kicked inside and proved to be an excellent blocker. Unfortunately, injuries keep getting in Jenkins' way and the Bears opted not to re-sign him following his rookie contract. Jenkins signed a one-year deal with the Cleveland Browns.

2020: OL Robert Hunt (Dolphins)

Robert Hunt came into the league as an intriguing tackle out of Louisiana, but settled in as a guard in the NFL. It was the right move as Hunt became one of the better interior offensive linemen as his career developed with the Miami Dolphins. He cashed in on a big pay day with the Carolina Panthers during the 2024 offseason, signing a five-year, $100 million deal, and made his first Pro Bowl appearance.

2019: CB Sean Murphy-Bunting (Buccaneers)

The Buccaneers selected Sean Murphy-Bunting out of Central Michigan in 2019 and though he never became a star cornerback, he played an integral role during the team's Super Bowl run. In 2020, Murphy-Bunting caught fire for the Buccaneers in the playoffs, making an interception in three straight postseason games. He had three picks and five pass breakups in four games against the likes of Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, and Patrick Mahomes. Murphy-Bunting played four seasons in Tampa before joining the Tennessee Titans in 2024, and the Arizona Cardinals in 2025.

2018: OL James Daniels (Bears)

Another Bears offensive lineman at No. 39 overall. James Daniels was a young prospect out of Iowa who appeared to be the team's center of the future. It was quickly determined Daniels fit better at guard, however, where he played the vast majority of games for the Bears. Daniels was a slightly above-average lineman who spent four years in Chicago. The Bears' new regime didn't want to commit to him long term, though, and he signed a three-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers where he enjoyed similar success. Daniels is on his third team and while he's coming off a torn Achilles, he's still just 27 years old with plenty of football ahead of him.

2017: S Marcus Maye (Jets)

The Jets double dipped at safety in the 2017 NFL Draft. After selecting Jamal Adams in the first round, they picked Marcus Maye in the second, hoping to bolster their secondary. Maye was a solid addition to the Jets secondary as their starting free safety. In five seasons, he totaled six interceptions and 24 pass breakups. Maye has bounced around since then, with stops in New Orleans, Miami, and the Los Angeles Chargers. He is currently a free agent.

2016: DE Noah Spence (Buccaneers)

Noah Spence is the only player on this list who is out of the league. Spence had first-round talent, but his checkered past raised questions and he was selected in the second round by the Buccaneers. His career started out strong as he notched 5.5 sacks and 22 total tackles his rookie season. That would be his best season, however, as injuries and ineffectiveness limited his playing time. Spence spent three years in Tampa, one year in Washington, and a couple of games in Cincinnati before he was out of the league by the 2022 season.

2015: DT Eddie Goldman (Bears)

The fourth and final Bears pick in this list, Eddie Goldman was an effective run stopper for half a decade in Chicago. Goldman was one of the first building blocks of the popular 2018 defense and was the first draft pick made by Ryan Pace to receive an extension. Goldman's end with the Bears began when he opted out of the 2020 NFL season, was a shell of himself in 2021, retired in 2022, and came back with the Atlanta Falcons in 2024 with a relatively successful season. He signed with the Washington Commanders this offseason.
