Victor Wembanyama will soon be the face of the NBA. For now, he'll have to settle for the face of NBA 2K.
The San Antonio Spurs star will be the NBA 2K27 cover athlete, the video game franchise announced on X. Wembanyama will grace the Standard Edition cover, with Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark and Chicago Bulls legend Derrick Rose appearing on the Deluxe and Ultra covers, respectively.
This past season, the 22-year-old Wembanyama helped the Spurs knock off the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals before falling to the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals. Wembanyama won Defensive Player of the Year and finished third in MVP voting.
Wembanyama stands 7-foot-4 but can handle and shoot like a guard. He's a video game-type player if there ever was one, so the 2K cover makes all the sense in the world.
