NIXA–The Evangel Valor made quick work of the Bethel College Threshers, on Saturday, scoring a 51-0 shutout in the team’s second-to-last regular season game.
The Valor scored three touchdowns in the first half to build a 24-0 edge at halftime, then exploded for another 27 in the second half. With the lopsided victory, Evangel has now won five games in-a-row, and pitched a shut out in two of them.
If the Valor can beat Bethany College in the team’s regular season finale, on Saturday, November 15, Evangel would not only end the season on a 6-game winning streak, but it would also sweep its conference slate, and end the fall campaign 5-0 in the KCAC.
Would that be enough to get the Valor in the NAIA National Tournament? That question remains to be answered but it certainly couldn’t hurt.
