Can’t say that I disagree w/ PHX being no. 3 but I think it’s a stretch for the Celts to be at no. 2 and Dallas to be way down at no. 6.

1. Spurs
2. Celtics
3. Suns
4. Rockets
5. Pistons
6. Mavericks
7. Cavaliers
8. Jazz
9. Warriors
10. Bulls

No way are the Pistons better than the Mavs. I doubt the Rockets are either. I can understand us being at # 3 with chemisty issues right now (i.e. Marion's trade request).

Celtics #2 that right there makes the whole list lose any validity! A team that hasn't even played a game together #2 what a joke!

Switch the Mavs and the Celtics and its oK. The Celtics havent even played yet. They might be that good, but let them win a few first.

I think they must have started with the premise that the Spurs rise out of the West and the Celtics rise out of the East. I think the rest of their thinking is flawed because Dallas should be ranked higher. I do not think they will repeat a first round exit this year.

The whole list is a joke; none of these teams have played a game together. Preseason power rankings are ridiculous.

I think some writers may be mistaking Garnett for Jordan. The Celtics won how many games last year? Why not put the Knicks up there too? After all, according to Marbury, they are a championship team on paper. Too bad for all these teams that the games aren't played on paper.

Power rankings are ridiculous period. It is just something else for people to talk about.

Haha somebody forgot the coach of the Celtics is Doc Rivers. Unless they or the Pistons get a coach that knows what he's doing I don't fear any team in the East.

2. Boston
6. Dallas:
Dallas isn't starting so low because its season for the ages ended in first-round humiliation. Dallas is down here because it has to prove it can rebound from two extraordinarily painful playoff implosions in a row.

Dallas at 6 because they have to "prove" something while Boston gets a free pass regardless of the fact that they have yet to even play together :doi:

Power ratings are clear signs of guys who are paid to write but have nothing useful to say.
