Notre Dame football has a very good showing during this past NFL draft, sending two first-round picks to NFL teams in running back Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price.
Both are expected to be Day 1 starters, but ESPN thinks that the Irish will have an even better 2027 draft showing. Draft analyst Jordan Reid recently put each team into a tier, with Notre Dame landing in the first one, with three expected first-rounders and eleven total players taken during the seven round event.
Reid has cornerback Leonard Moore and safety Braunate Johnson as the top players at their respective positions along with quarterback CJ Carr who he expects gets taken during the first day. It would be the first time since 1994 that the Irish would see a trio of prospects taken this early.
As for some of the other players Reid expects to be taken are corners DJ McKinney and Christian Gray, safety Adon Shuler, linebackers Drayk Bowen and Jaiden Ausberry, edge Boubacar Traore and guard Anthonie Knapp. It’s a list of current Notre Dame stars, but Reid omits one that many have as the top player at his position, Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa. He has a chance to go early as well, a Day 2 pick at minimum.
It’s a solid list to start the season, but there are more than a few other Irish players who could emerge as teams draft boards. Regardless of who gets taken, it’s looking like it should be another very good showing for Notre Dame during the 2027 NFL draft.

The Irish are loaded on defense. CB Leonard Moore and S Tae Johnson are the headliners, but LB Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa (if healthy) and EDGE Boubacar Traore are intriguing players. S Adon Shuler is also an underrated piece in the secondary. https://t.co/5ZktODVhys
