Not since Davante Adams was in Las Vegas did the Raiders field a viable X receiver. That was nearly two seasons ago. It's a good thing to have. So, when there is a viable option at that spot that could be available, the Raiders are going to come up.

Today ESPN went about presenting hypothetical trade offers for some of the high profile players who could be moved by their current squads. When Bills WR Keon Coleman was mentioned, the Raiders were among the teams who could be interested.

Ben Solak's offer:

Bills get: 2028 fifth-round pick

Raiders get: Coleman, 2028 seventh-round pick

Why this deal makes sense: The Raiders don't have a big-framed receiver on their roster, which is one of the lone weaknesses of a skill position group that's otherwise well constructed. Coleman would join the depth chart behind Tre Tucker and Jalen Nailor, challenging second-year players Jack Bech and Dont'e Thornton Jr. for snaps. Rookie QB Fernando Mendoza loved to throw back-shoulder balls to big-bodied receivers like Coleman during his time with the Hoosiers.

As Solak notes, Fernando Mendoza loved the back-shoulder pass last season as he led the Indiana Hoosiers to a National Championship. Many of those going to 6-2, 213-pound Elijah Sarratt. The 6-4, 215-pound Coleman would fit into that role nicely.

The last thiing the Raiders want to have to do is remove a key component of Mendoza's game from the playbook because they don't have a receiver who can complete the play.

This trade seems like a pretty good one to acquire the 23-year-old former 33 overall pick.
