ESPN analyst Elle Duncan has been at odds with Caitlin Clark fans since the 2024 WNBA season. As Clark's popularity increased, more fans jumped on her train, while certain comments didn't sit well with many.

Duncan was under criticism at the end of April after she claimed A'ja Wilson would lose her MVP award due to voter fatigue.

During an episode of her "Elle Duncan Show," she rejected the notion that Clark was a threat to Wilson in the MVP race, but noted that the second-year player can give the Aces' star and other players, such as Napheesa Collier, a run for their money.

Those claims already put her under the spotlight, and fans haven't stopped coming at her. On Thursday's installment of her show, Duncan talked about how the young players (sophomore as Clark, Angel Reese, and Cameron Brink, and rookies such as Paige Bueckers) will steal storylines in 2025, while an established veteran who happens to be the reigning MVP might consider she's been left out.

"I feel like somewhere, someone's going, 'I'm the best basketball player on the planet, though, and my name is A'ja Wilson.'"

Ken Swift, a well-known Clark fan on X, called out Duncan over a video thumbnail featuring the Indiana Fever's star after her take on the attention "CC" and others would get coming into their second season.

"Hey [Elle Duncan] if you want new storylines for the WNBA, why are you still using this as the thumbnail for your videos?" Swift asked.

Duncan issued a strong response and questioned why Swift hadn't talked to her during the offseason when she had nothing but positive things to say about Clark.

"Hey Ken how come I havent heard nan nothing from you for like the entire WNBA offseason and now youve popped up again despite the fact ive been talking about CC, her awards, her offseason for months.. You are truly the definition of TROLL! Bet you didnt even listen, you just have no other grift.. but keep it going. engagement farmer..its your brand," Duncan tweeted.

Many fans reacted to this exchange, with some siding with Swift and joining him in going after Duncan.

"Didn’t answer his question," one fan wrote.

"The irony here is that Ken provides more quality WNBA content than Elle's entire writing staff," a second fan said.

"Didn’t u at a minimum insinuate Clark didn’t deserve or not good enough to be on the Olympic team? Was that trolling or have u admitted that it was a mistake?" a third fan questioned.

Others showed support for Duncan in this heated exchange.

"Elle keep doing your work don't give Ken the oxygen he cares none for the WNBA or Caitlin. Keep your eyes on the prize," a fourth fan wrote.

"Yeah, Ken why weren’t you replying to her all off-season," a fifth fan said.

"Cc Stans the weirdest people on this planet," a sixth fan wrote.

After a rookie season in which Clark was constantly on the receiving end of criticism, or people tried to diminish her impact on the WNBA, fans are ready to defend her against anybody.

The regular season is yet to start, but the verbal wars between Clark fans and media members are back.
