On Tuesday, USC promoted analyst Skyler Jones to defensive tackles coach. Jones replaces Eric Henderson, who departed last week for the NFL’s Washington Commanders.
Following the news, Henderson took to social media to congratulate Jones.
“My DAWG, I’m so happy for you bro @CoachSkyJones it’s been a long time coming bro!” Henderson wrote. “Your patience and grind has opened the door you’ve been working for all this time! Look at GOD the best hire @uscfb could have made! Surprised it took this long! Love you fam #DAWGWORK”
Jones and Henderson previously worked together with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022. Henderson’s hire was much of the reason that Jones decided to come to USC two years ago.
Now, Jones is set to take over for the man that he previously worked under. USC fans are hoping that Jones will work well with new defensive coordinator Gary Patterson and take the Trojans’ defensive line to the next level.
