In a vote that ended April 11, Cincinnati.com readers selected the next 2025 Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Athletes of the Week from high school sports action through April 6.
Winner certificates through Feb. 14 have been mailed to athletic departments so winners can pick up their certificates through athletic directors. The next round will go out later this month.
Here are this week's winners.

Ohio baseball team:St. Bernard-Elmwood Place – The Titans are 3-0 for the first time since 2012 after beating Lockland in a doubleheader by a combined score of 42-2 on Wednesday.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana baseball team:Simon-Kenton – After starting 1-2, the Pioneers have won three straight after beating Scott and Campbell County last week.
Ohio softball team:Norwood – They grabbed their first win of the season on Tuesday with a shutout victory over Clark Montessori.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana softball team:Grant County – They beat Cooper 5-1 last week, extending their season record to 3-2.
Boys spring team: Mason volleyball – Mason has won four in a row after defeating Edgewood, Oak Hills and Lebanon over the week.
Girls spring team:Seton lacrosse – The Saints improved to 4-1, beating St. Ursula 18-5 and Mount Notre Dame 17-14.
Ohio big-school baseball:Grant O’Conner, Mason – The junior had a home run and four RBIs in a 14-1 win over Princeton.
Ohio small-school baseball:Landen Fischer, Goshen – The senior had a hit and two RBIs in a 3-2 league win over Western Brown.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana big-school baseball:Braiden Beach, Grant County – He had three hits and four RBIs in a 12-3 win over Frankfort Western Hills, and got the win on the mound, allowing one earned in four innings while striking out six.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana small-school baseball:Jamikah Jasper, Lloyd Memorial – He had two hits and three RBIs in an 8-6 win over Holy Cross.
Big-school boys lacrosse:Quinn Riley, Mason – The senior had four goals and an assist in a 11-8 win over Moeller.
Small-schoolboys lacrosse:Vincent Perry, Edgewood – The senior had two goals, four assists and five ground balls in a 13-4 league win over Monroe.
Big-school girls lacrosse:Abbey Upton, Lakota East – The junior made five saves in a 12-0 shutout win over Oak Hills.
Small-school girls lacrosse:Kennedy Steuer, Fenwick – The junior scored three goals in a 5-2 win over Fenwick, and two in a 13-1 win over Carroll.
Ohio big-school softball:Brooke Hoffmeier, Oak Hills – The freshman went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored as the Highlanders came back to beat Lakota West.
Ohio small-school softball:Skye Shaw, Goshen – The sophomore led the Warriors to their first win over Western Brown in nine years, pitching a complete game and allowing only one run while working around eight hits. She also went 4-for-4 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and four runs scored in a win over Batavia.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana big-school softball:Taylor Nevels, Cooper – She went 4-for-5 with two doubles, three runs scored, an RBI and two stolen bases in a win over Conner.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana small-school softball:Rachel Shewmaker, Bishop Brossart – She went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and three runs scored in a win over Paul Laurence Dunbar. She also went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in a win over Lloyd.
Singles tennis:Eva Greene, Newport Central Catholic – The senior first-singles player is currently 6-0 in regional play and beat Kayla Johnson of Cooper High School in a three-set tiebreaker on Tuesday.
Doubles tennis: Liam Amy-Alex Hill, Loveland – They survived a third set, winning it 6-4 to clinch a 3-2 win over Elder.
Ohio boys track and field:Nathan Burke, Goshen – He won the 3,200-meter run in a personal best of 10:27.26 and took second in the 1,600-meter run (4:57.42) at Georgetown. He also won the 3,200-meter run at West Clermont.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana boys track and field:Alex Combs, Bishop Brossart – The senior cleared a height of 5 feet, 8 inches to win the high jump at Covington Catholic.
Ohio girls track and field:Aubrey Schaffner, Western Brown – She recorded a new shot-put personal best of 35 feet, 10 inches to take second place at Elder. She also placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 96 feet, 4 inches.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana girls track and field:Avery Vanlandingham, Conner – The junior took fourth in the 800-meter run (2:27.67) and sixth in the 1,600-meter run (5:38.14) at Lafayette. She also took second place in both events at Elder.
Ohio boys volleyball:Matteo Puddu, Lakota East – Puddu had 28 total kills in three matches, including 13 in a sweep of Lakota West.
Northern Kentucky boys volleyball:Ethan Moran, Dayton – In a sweep of Walton-Verona, Moran had eight kills and seven blocks.
