Emma Raducanu’s F1 predictions are starting to look downright prophetic. Just days before the season opener in Melbourne, she made bold picks that are now proving to be spot on.

“I think Max Verstappen will win,” she said. At the time, that felt like a no-brainer. But six races in, the defending world champion trails McLaren’s Oscar Piastri by a staggering 32 points. Verstappen sits third with 99 points, behind Lando Norris (115) and the championship leader Piastri (131).

What really turned heads was Raducanu’s backing of McLaren. “I want to say McLaren. I want them to win,” she said with a smile. Now, McLaren leads the constructors’ standings with 246 points — more than Mercedes (141) and Red Bull (105) combined.

And this isn’t a fluke. The team is carrying momentum from a dominant 2024 season, where they secured the title with 666 points — edging out Ferrari and Red Bull.

Raducanu also tipped Lewis Hamilton as her “one to watch” in 2025, saying: “I think everyone is like, I’m looking forward to watching him compete in Ferrari, and I think he’ll have a great season.” While Hamilton hasn’t delivered fireworks just yet, Ferrari’s car has shown pace, and expectations remain high for the seven-time champion.

As both McLaren drivers lead the way and Red Bull struggles to match last year’s dominance, her casual prediction feels less like a fan’s wish — and more like an early glimpse at how this season would unfold.

Emma might be chasing titles on the court, but she’s clearly tuned in to what’s happening on the track. And right now, she’s not missing.
