Cincinnati shortstop Elly De La Cruz and former outfielder Deion 'Prime Time' Sanders are two of most electrifying figures in Reds history. Following the 23-year-old's most recent performance, the duo are now linked together in the clubs history books.

De La Cruz went two-for-four with a pair of singles in an 8-1 win Sunday over the Colorado Rockies Sunday, bringing his hit total to 30 on the season.

According to a Reddit post via BaseballReference.com, De La Cruz joined Sanders and hall-of-famer Joe Morgan as the third Reds player to have 30-plus hits and 10-plus steals before the calendar turns to May.

Morgan, inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1990, was the first to accomplish the feat, when he registered 32 hits and 15 stolen bases in 23 games to begin the 1975 season. He went on to capture National League MVP honors that year, and lead the Big Red Machine to their first of back-to-back World Series victories.

22-years-later, Sanders became the second Cincinnati player to reach the milestone. After sitting out the entire 1996 MLB season to focus on playing both cornerback and wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, 'Prime Time' got off to a fast start on the diamond the following year.

In 25 games to begin his 1997 campaign, the Reds centerfielder hit .383, recording 41 hits and 19 stolen bases across March and April.

Through 28 games, De La Cruz is slashing .270/.339/.432 with five home runs and 24 RBI. He'll look to add to his 30 hits and 11 stolen bases Monday night when the Reds begin a four-game homestand against the St. Louis Cardinals.
