Oregon has spent a lot of time looking for talent in a place many might not guess...Michigan. The Ducks landed a commitment from five-star wideout and Michigan native Dakota Guerrant earlier this month, and secured a commitment from a four-star tight end from Michigan here at the end of June.

USA TODAY's Detroit Free Press reports that Anthony Cartwright III has committed to the Ducks as part of Dan Lanning's 2027 class. The commitment can be viewed as a bit of an upset victory for Oregon, as Cartwright III's father, Tony, played at Michigan State, which was also in hot pursuit of the top-tier tight end.

In addition to the Spartans, Michigan, LSU and Miami were all interested in the 6-foot-5, 235-pounder.

Cartwright III finished his junior campaign at Country Day with 42 catches for 638 yards and six receiving touchdowns.

He also plays on Country Day's basketball team and baseball team.
