Elena Rybakina will face former world number one Iga Swiatek in the final of the National Bank Open after rallying to beat Coco Gauff 5-7, 6-2, 6-2.
Gauff took an early lead in Toronto, but Rybakina responded in the second set, coming from 2-1 down to win four straight games and take it 6-2.
She sealed the victory just after 1 am local time.
Poland's Swiatek posted a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 victory over Elina Svitolina after the match was delayed due to rain.
Swiatek stormed to the first four games and took the opening set, but Svitolina hit back to level the match in the second.
The Ukrainian took an early 3–2 lead in the decider, but seventh seed Swiatek hit back immediately, reeling off four straight games to clinch a 6–3 third-set victory.
In the men's singles, defending champion Ben Shelton will face fellow American Brandon Nakashima in the men's final in Montreal after beating Learner Tien 6-2, 6-3.
"Super happy with the performance," Shelton told ATPtour.com.
"Learner is a guy who presents me with a lot of problems in my game. A tough challenge to overcome. To get a win over him in the fashion that I did, I'm super pleased with that."
The 23-year-old, who saved break points in both of his opening two service games, defeated Tien in just one hour and 24 minutes.
Nakashima overcame Rafael Jodar 7-6(3), 6-4 in the semi-final.
