Who: Sporting Club Jacksonville at El Paso Locomotive.
When: 9 p.m. Saturday, July 25.
Where: Southwest University Park, El Paso.
The skinny: The Sporting Jax men, unbeaten in their last three, attempt to build on their improved form against El Paso (5-6-4). … Waiting on the opposing side is El Paso's 35-year-old forward Cristo Fernandez, better known as the actor playing the role of Dani Rojas in the soccer-themed series "Ted Lasso." Fernandez, signed last month, has yet to appear in a USL Championship league game. … Sporting Jax's defense now can include three players with national team experience in Ventura Alvarado (United States), Marcus Godinho (Canada) and Danny Wilson (Scotland). … Sporting Jax (1-11-5) midfielder Wan Kuzain is expected to miss the game after he was called up to Malaysia's national team for the ASEAN Championship, the regional soccer championship for Southeast Asia. Kuzain and Malaysia begin the tournament July 25 against Myanmar at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar, and the event could potentially keep him out of the country until the final on Aug. 26.
