WEST LAFAYETTE ― Defending champion Noah Dever is among eight players under par and part of six tied for the lead after one round of the 49th Zanesville District Golf Association Amateur tournament held on June 26 at par-72 River Greens.

Dever, a John Glenn standout who now plays at Charleston (West Virginia), is joined atop the leaderboard by Chatum Courson, Norwich's Blake Hartford, River View's Gavin Gress, Heath High and Muskingum product David Link and Crooksville native Blake White, all of whom shot 3-under-par 69. They are one shot in front of Muskingum's Nick Congrove and Marietta College product Zach Huscusson, who shot 70.

Play resumes at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 27 at Crystal Springs, in Hopewell, where the top 21 and ties advance to final-round play on June 28 at Zanesville Country Club.
