Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua finally appear closer to sharing a ring after years of failed talks, public frustration and missed chances.
The long-awaited heavyweight fight has been agreed for the final quarter of this year, but both men still have business to handle first.
Joshua is set to face Kristian Prenga in July, while Fury wants another tune-up after already beating Arslanbek Makhmudov earlier this year.

Fury’s extra fight could have complicated the schedule, but Hearn still expects the all-British showdown to take place in November, as he told The Sun: “For us, we were always told it was November. It’s definitely happening this year. But I do still expect the fight to take place in November.”
It is a significant update, given how many times this fight has fallen through in the past due to negotiations and timing issues.
This time, the path is clearer. Joshua must come through Prenga on July 25, while Fury has now added another unexpected layer to his own schedule.
Last Thursday, Fury and former football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced a fight for 1 August, although it remains unclear whether that is a real crossover bout or a stunt.
Still, Hearn’s November expectation suggests Joshua’s camp believes the wider plan remains intact, even with the extra noise around Fury.
The caution is obvious, because one cut, injury or poor performance could change everything. But after years of waiting, Fury vs Joshua finally has a credible route.
