After already reportedly meeting with a stud cornerback, Clemson star and All-ACC nod Avieon Terrell, the Philadelphia Eagles continue to comb through defensive back prospects at the NFL Combine. One of their latest reported meetings adds both production and familiarity to the equation.

Philadelphia reportedly sat with Emmanuel McNeil-Warren. He's a 2025 Second-Team All-American and First-Team All-MAC safety who checks several intriguing boxes. He isn’t just an accomplished defender. He’s also a former teammate of Eagles Al-Pro corner Quinyon Mitchell and Seattle Seahawks defensive back Maxen Hook.

#Toledo Safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren had a formal interview with the #Eagles and had probably the quote of the week so far about his mindset on the field:

“I feel like you bleed just how I bleed. So we both human, so we gonna bleed together, and I just leave everything out on… pic.twitter.com/f6v2ucAMPq

If you've been keeping up with everything that's been offered on Eagles Wire, you're well aware of how good this young man is. We previously mentioned him as one of the top safety prospects of this draft cycle.

The attention he has been given speaks loudly. Earning Second-Team All-American recognition in 2025 while also securing First-Team All-MAC status underscores a player who wasn't just productive. It's evidence of someone who has been consistently impactful.

Owens built his reputation as a rangy, instinctive defender who can play downhill against the run while holding his own in coverage. The timing of this meeting is notable. Two starters at safety last season, Reed Blankenship and Marcus Epps, are both impending free agents.

Depth at the safety position is far from settled. Rookie safety Andrew Mukuba showed promise but ultimately landed on injured reserve. That left questions about both durability and long-term outlook.

In other words, safety has quietly become an important need. The Eagles have demonstrated a willingness to double down on programs and pipelines they trust. The Mitchell connection matters. Familiarity with scheme concepts, preparation habits, and competitive temperament can help smooth a transition to the professional level.
