PHOENIX —Eagles vice president of football operations Jeff Scott has been hired as the assistant general manager of the Falcons, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday morning.
In Atlanta, Scott will join new Falcons general manager Ian Cunningham, who previously spent five seasons (2017-2021) with the Eagles in various front office roles.
Cunningham and Scott worked together during the 2021 season, and then Cunningham left for the assistant GM job with the Bears in 2022.
Scott joined the Eagles as a pro scout in 2021 after spending nine years with Washington in scouting and football operation roles. He served as the Eagles’ director of football operations from 2022-2023 and was promoted to vice president of football operations in 2024.
Under Eagles general manager Howie Roseman, several front office assistants have left for assistant general manager and general manager positions, including Cunningham, Browns GM Andrew Berry, Browns assistant GM Catherine Hickman and Steelers assistant GM Andy Weidl.
Weidl and Hickman could eventually receive the chance to run their own organizations. Scott could get that opportunity, too.
Roseman is one of the best general managers in the NFL in part because he has built an elite staff of future general managers. He has replaced Cunningham, Hickman, Weidl and Berry with other bright assistants.
