So far, the Eagles' defense has been ahead of the offense. That was especially the case on Aug. 4, in part because wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Makai Lemon sat out with hamstring injuries.

Who's winning position battles?

Through the first week of training camp, we listed five players who have stood out in some of the biggest position battles. That includes QB, where Andy Dalton has so far outplayed Tanner McKee. Dalton said he's enjoyed the competition so far.

"I still have a lot of fun doing it," said Dalton, who turns 39 in October. "Just coming out here in camp and putting pads on for the first time this training camp, it’s like, ‘Alright, we’re back to playing football again.’ I’m still enjoying it. I still feel like I can bring value to a quarterback room."
