Duleep Trophy 2026 squads announced: Full team lists, players, format and fixtures
The Duleep Trophy is back to open India's domestic red-ball season, and the squads named for the 2026-27 edition carry serious international weight across all six zones.
Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Tilak Varma and Mohammed Shami are among those involved, giving selectors an early look at red-ball form before a demanding run of overseas Tests.
The timing matters. India will travel to Sri Lanka and New Zealand later this year for four away Tests, and strong performances in Bengaluru could shape those squads as well as future IPL and Ranji Trophy opportunities.

Duleep Trophy 2026: Format of the tournament
The 2026-27 edition of the Duleep Trophy will mark the start of the Indian domestic red-ball season. Retaining its traditional and historic zonal structure, the competition will feature six regional teams: Central Zone, East Zone, North Zone, North East Zone, South Zone, and West Zone.
The tournament operates on a strict single-elimination knockout bracket. Because there are six teams, the two top-seeded zones, Central Zone and South Zone, have been granted a bye and will directly pre-qualify for the semifinals.
The remaining four zonal teams are required to battle it out in two separate quarter-final matches to start the competition. The victors of these matches will advance to face the pre-qualified teams, culminating in a five-day final.
