Duke guard Kon Knueppel announced Wednesday on social media that he is declaring for the 2025 NBA draft after one season with the Blue Devils.
Knueppel was a second-team All-ACC selection after averaging 14.4 points, four rebounds, 2.7 assists and one steal in 39 games on 40.6% shooting from 3-point range. He scored in double figures in all but seven games, including a season-high 28 points and eight assists on March 13.
The 6-foot-7 standout ranked seventh in the country in free-throw percentage (91.4), eighth in offensive rating (133.7) and ninth in win shares (6.9). He was also tied for the ninth-most appearances after helping the Blue Devils to the Final Four.
Knueppel is projected to be a mid-first-round pick this year in the draft, with his shooting and ability to facilitate offenses. He is also a capable defender and held his own throughout the season, though it is his shooting that will likely be coveted most by teams drafting in the lottery.
The 19-year-old ascended draft boards after elevating his on-court play as the season progressed. He had a tremendous postseason run after earning Most Valuable Player of the ACC tournament, averaging 21 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.7 steals.
Knueppel will be able to improve his draft positioning in team workouts and the combine on May 11-18 in Chicago, Illinois. He is one of three Blue Devils aiming to be selected in the first round, along with Cooper Flagg and Khaman Maluach.
The 2025 NBA draft will occur June 25-26 in New York City.
