Entering the 2026 season, Oregon Ducks baseball coach Mark Wasikowski needed just six wins to achieve victory No. 300 for his career. They didn't waste any time as the Ducks have won their first six games of the year to give their coach that milestone win with a 3-0 win over Youngstown State at PK Park Friday night.
"I'm blessed to be at this place," Wasikowski said after the game. "Working at the University of Oregon is unbelievable. It's a dream of mine, and I got an opportunity to do it. Thanks to Mr. (Rob) Mullens for being able to represent this great school; it is something that I take a lot of pride in."
Coach Waz is in the middle of his seventh season in Eugene after taking over for George Horton. He is currently 300-189 for his career, that included a stint at Purdue before coming to Oregon. As the Duck head coach, Wasikowski is 212-106. The Ducks have made the postseason in the last five seasons, but have yet to get over the hump and reach Omaha.
For the big win No. 300, Oregon had to do it from the mound as the Ducks were holding on to a 3-0 lead in the ninth inning. The Penguins managed to load the bases, but reliever Devin Bell came in and whiffed the final two hitters to preserve the win and stay undefeated on the young season.
