The Seattle Seahawks have completely revamped the quarterback position this offseason. It started by trading starter Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders. The Seahawks then signed Sam Darnold in free agency to a contract worth more than $100 million. More recently, Drew Lock reunited with the team via a one-year contract to back up Darnold.
Sam Howell and Jaren Hall are also on the roster as the third and fourth quarterbacks. Despite that, the Seahawks have still met with various intriguing quarterback prospects in the 2025 NFL draft, including Jalen Milroe and Tyler Shough. General manager John Schneider recently said signing Lock "won't preclude" the Seahawks from drafting a quarterback.
"Really excited to have all four of those guys but in particular to have Sam Howell and Drew kind of competing for that second spot is a pretty good deal for us," Schneider said on Seattle Sports.
The Seahawks own five total selections in the opening 100 picks. With Darnold on a three-year contract that isn't fully guaranteed, paired with Seattle's abundance of draft capital, Schneider may consider selecting a quarterback if the right one slides in the draft. The Seahawks' interest in this year's quarterback class appears legitimate.
