Linebacker Tyrel Dodson returned to the Dolphins lineup versus Cleveland after missing Week 6 with a concussion, and he reminded everyone why he is one of the key players on this defense.

Dodson totaled eight tackles on the day, including the defense's lone sack on Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel. His sack on Gabriel came on a big third down which halted the Cleveland offense at their own goal line.

Dodson now has a career best three sacks on the 2025 season to go along with 54 tackles and a forced fumble.

Unfortunately, his efforts were far from impactful in the Dolphins' 31-6 blowout loss. At 1-6, this has become a season to forget as the Miami fan base is clamoring for immediate personnel changes. The upcoming NFL trade deadline on Nov. 4 will likely see the Dolphins trading away players who are not viewed as a future piece on this team.

Dodson, 27, has earned a solidified starting role with the Dolphins after stints with Buffalo and Seattle to start his career. He has been one of the most consistent players on the Miami defense since they acquired him from Seattle in the middle of last season.

Although the Dolphins linebacker group does have some quality depth pieces in K.J. Britt and Willie Gay Jr, it's hard to imagine they would part with Dodson after re-signing him last this past free agency to a two-year deal.
