The Miami Dolphins have put forth a concerted effort to revamp their cornerback room this offseason, replacing several members of the position group with veteran free agents on short-term deals.
While they've added some capable players, Miami should still be looking for a true top-end starter at the position, and the best place for them to find one now is at the 2026 NFL draft.
Interestingly, the Dolphins hosted LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane for a top-30 pre-draft visit on Monday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Delane, 22, was a three-star recruit out of Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Maryland, before committing to play at Virginia Tech. After three years with the Hokies, he transferred to LSU for his final collegiate season.
Between the two schools, Delane appeared in 44 games and recorded 191 tackles, 27 passes defensed, eight interceptions, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He also earned All-ACC honors in his final year at Virginia Tech and All-American honors in lone year at LSU.
Adding Delane to the cornerback room would be a huge move for a Dolphins' defense that could desperately use the help. However, Miami would have to use their first of two first-round picks on him if he were to even fall to them at No. 11.
At that point, new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan would have to decide if cornerback is their biggest need, or if Delane is the best player on the board.
