The Los Angeles Dodgers revealed the lineup for their series opener against the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday at 4:05 p.m. PT.
LA is fresh off of a perfect start to their six-game road trip, as they swept the Washington Nationals over the weekend. The bats woke up in the series, as the Dodgers scored 10 or more runs in both of the first two games of the series and overcame a five-run deficit in the final game of the series to win, 8-6.
Hyeseong Kim, who the Dodgers called up to replace the injured Mookie Betts, gets his first start of the season against the right-handed Max Scherzer and will fill in at shortstop.
Designated hitter Shohei Ohtani will lead the line as always, followed by right fielder Kyle Tucker and first baseman Freddie Freeman finishes the trio of left-handers batting third.
Left fielder Teoscar Hernandez hit a solo home run in Sunday’s win and will bat cleanup, followed by third baseman Max Muncy, who also got the day off in the series finale.
Center fielder Andy Pages will bat sixth, followed by second baseman Alex Freeland and catcher Dalton Rushing, who will make his first back-to-back start of the season. Kim rounds out the lineup and will bat ninth in his first appearance of the season.
Justin Wrobleski will make his first start and just his second appearance of the season for LA on Monday, and stated he’s looking forward to the trip back to Toronto despite what is likely to be an unwelcoming environment.
“It’s gonna be great,” Wrobleski said. “They’re gonna boo me and it’s gonna be really awesome. That’s what makes sports great, I think. If I were a Toronto fan, I probably wouldn’t like me either.”

The Dodgers last faced Scherzer in the World Series, during which he made two appearances. He allowed four earned runs through 8.2 innings pitched, striking out six batters in the process. He didn’t receive any wins nor losses in his two outings during the Fall Classic.
The Blue Jays are off to a rough start to the season, sitting below .500 despite three relatively weak opponents in their first trio of series this season. They began the season strong against the Athletics, sweeping them despite a few close games, before dropping two of three to the Colorado Rockies. The Chicago White Sox swept them over the weekend, and they now sit at 4-5 heading into their series against the defending World Champions.
