He didn’t come back this past weekend, but Brock Stewart could be activated by the Los Angeles Dodgers any day now.
Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register posted to social media that Stewart “has joined #Dodgers in Houston. Expect him to be activated in next couple days.”

Where has Brock Stewart been?
Stewart was drafted by the Dodgers in 2014 and played for the Boys in Blue from 2016 to 2019, when he was claimed off of waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays.
Stewart returned to the Dodgers at 2025’s trade deadline, but he only pitched in four games before landing on the injured list with shoulder inflammation. He underwent a procedure shortly after and missed the remainder of the season.

The right-hander began his rehab assignment with Single-A Ontario on April 14, and he has been stellar as he started ramping back up. He made two appearances in Single-A, allowing just two baserunners across his two outings at the level, and he’s excelled with Triple-A Oklahoma City as well.
Now, it looks like he could be put to the test at the major-league level against the hated Houston Astros.
“His role with the Dodgers clearly is going to be a guy, hopefully, high-leverage against righties,” said Dodgers Nation’s Doug McKain. “We have to see what he looks like. The beautiful thing about this is they don’t want to go out there and make trades for relievers. They want as many of these guys as options, and Stewart is certainly an option.”
How did Brock Stewart pitch last season?
Stewart had a fantastic year for the Minnesota Twins before he came to the Dodgers, posting a 2.38 ERA in 39 appearances. The Dodgers traded James Outman in exchange for Stewart, who came in to assist the injury-riddled bullpen.
Through his four appearances for the Dodgers, Stewart pitched 3.2 innings and struck out three batters, allowing two runs for a 4.91 ERA.
Who will the Dodgers move to make room for Brock Stewart?
Plunkett didn’t detail who might be designated for assignment to make room for Stewart, but one contender is Blake Treinen, a fellow righty.
Treinen threw one pitch for a groundout against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday, but prior to that, he had struggled a bit.
Even with that one-pitch inning, Treinen has an ERA of 4.00 over his nine innings in 12 games this year.
He does have nine strikeouts, but his WHIP is 1.556.
He’s also blown two saves this year out of the team’s total of five, and he’s failed to record a save.
Who do you think will be moved to accommodate the return of Brock Stewart?
